Since Installment 32, we have avoided wasting valuable time dissecting DT’s actions by always starting from two basic truths (the Basic Truths) about the man. The First Basic Truth is that DT is a sociopathic jackass. We do not hate and our assessment is not an emotional diatribe. We have repeatedly looked at the relevant definitions of “sociopathic” and “jackass” and are confident that the characterizations are appropriate. Also, it is sometimes said that vulgarity is a sign of a poor vocabulary and "jackass" qualifies as vulgarity. We are not embarrassed. The vulgar context is both appropriate and necessary in order to properly describe the man. He is himself a vulgarity and that vulgarity is an embarrassment to the country. And we do not think we are singling DT out just because he is DT. We regard any man who cheats on three wives as a jackass.
The Second Basic Truth is that DT is a pathological liar. Regular readers will recall the events which prompted us to declare that the issue whether or not DT actually is a pathological liar was closed to further discussion: Father and daughter, DT and DTI, simultaneously took opposite positions on the same issue, that is, whether the mainstream press is the “enemy of the people” (he said “yes” and she said “no”), AND, also virtually simultaneously, they each declared the other to be right. After much mutual public adoration between them, DTI disappeared again into the woodwork, leaving DT and his version to prevail by default. Claiming exoneration based on a letter from Barr and a report which states that there is no exoneration beats that.
The fundamental corollary to the Second Basic Truth is that, as a pathological liar, DT cannot (as in “is not able to”) articulate a central core policy, any long term plan or short term tactic, or beliefs on any subject on which anyone can depend. There is no good reason to listen to anything he has to say, any speech, any tweet or any other public pronouncement. There is no expression he makes to anyone on any subject upon which it is reasonable to rely. In fact, the joke of the century is the phrase, “The president has made it very clear that….” Rudy, Kellyanne, Sarah and now Kayleigh like it a lot. Listen for it from them and others. It is hilarious every time.
